Документы, на основе которых строится современное регулирование банковской деятельности в Европе. «Базельское соглашение о капиталах» содержит разделение капиталов на капитал первого и второго уровня. Впоследствии Директива Европейской комиссии ввела понятие капитала третьего уровня. Новые международные правила расчетов банковского капитала, Базель II, вступили в действие в 2007 году. См.
